Egressive Post-Earthquake Update

We are pleased to be able to let everyone know that things are returning to normal here at Egressive, after the 6.3 magnitude Christchurch Earthquake of 22 February 2011.  We have a new office at 10 Bishop St, St Albans, in a two story wooden house with a beautiful garden.  Please feel free to drop in at any time, we'd love to show it off to our customers and colleagues.  We are sharing the premises with our good friends ViaStrada Limited, traffic engineers and planners extraordinaire.

Many of our Christchurch based customers are now working from either temporary or permanent new locations, and we've been pleased to have been able to offer our assistance in getting them back up and running. We've continued to deliver existing web development and website projects, and we are actively seeking out more.

Our Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans have been well tested over the past few months, and have stood up well to the disruption of two major earthquakes. We are happy to offer the insights we have gleaned from our experiences to any customers who feel they may benefit from them.  We are proud of the fact that none of our hosting services went down either during or after the 4 September 2010 or the 22 February 2011 quakes, in great part due to our choice of Data Centre.  Our thanks to Unleash Data Centre and Internet Services for providing such a safe and reliable service.

We are sorry to report that Kenton Chambers, the home of the Egressive office for the last nine years, is scheduled for demolition and has been deemed too unstable to allow any recovery of our furniture, equipment or belongings.  While this is an emotional blow, it does mean we will be getting a lot of new, shiny equipment in our new office!

We have greatly appreciated the messages of support from our customers, suppliers and friends, and we look forward to working with you well beyond the aftershocks.
