We at Egressive feel that no business exists in a vacuum. It is our duty to be aware of - and have informed opinions about - the ecosystem in which we operate: for our business to thrive, we have to work to ensure our ecosystem as a whole is healthy. In some cases, this work takes the form of advocacy in public forums to help inform political and commercial discussion.

Egressive is pleased to announce the launch of the newly redesigned StrongerChristchurch website on behalf of the Stronger Christchurch Infrastructure Rebuild Team (SCIRT). The site was fully redesigned to reflect brand refinements, and has been restructured to provide a much richer picture for both contractors working on the recovery of Christchurch and Christchurch residents wanting to understand the reasons for the substantial disruptions like road works, detours, periodic impact on core utilities, etc.

The Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA) has launched their new Egressive designed and hosted website. The CERA site features lots of map and geo content, like the location for buildings on the demolition schedule, and we have the great privilege of incorporating Ross Becker's stunning definitive photographs of earthquake damaged Canterbury: Christchurch, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, and other locations around Canterbury affected by the quakes over the past 9 months.

From today, the new Stronger Christchurch site, developed by the Christchurch City Council's able web design team is live. It offers information to residents of (and visitors to) Christchurch who might be affected by various repair activities and the associated changes from the norm (e.g. road detours) that accompany them. The site is built on Egressive's Drupal starter package, and is hosted on Egressive's Christchurch-based hosting infrastructure.

The Egressive crew has been fortunate to escape the recent quakes largely unscathed. Our hosting services were unaffected and continued to operate as usual.  We switched our phones over to our backup system on the afternoon of Monday 13 June, but everything was back to normal by Tuesday morning.  Please let us know if your IT systems have been affected and you require assistance.

Following an arduous search, we have found our new Accounts Administrator. Egressive would like to welcome Jacky Wither to the team. She brings with her strong accounting skills, an impressive array of high-performance athletic endeavours, and a winning personality. Moreover, if her first day is any indication, she'll keep us and any delinquent payers in line... which is just what we need. Jacky is taking the reigns while Helen, our Accounts Administrator until very recently, attends to the obligations of impending motherhood!

All Egressive staff send our very best wishes to Helen and Antony, and we can't wait to meet the new addition to the Campbell family.

Her departure, though for the best of reasons, does mean that we are looking for a temporary Accounts Administrator! Many thanks to our good friends at ViaStrada for providing us with temporary accommodation while the status of our building, Kenton Chambers, remains in doubt. We're very excited to see that the Drupal core developer community has released the long awaited Drupal 7! From everything we can see (the whole development process has been transparent, so we've been keeping tabs on it along the way) it's an amazing step forward, demonstrating that inspired software engineering can go a long way to meeting these many (normally mutually conflicting) aims in one elegant package:
