Chch Earthquake News

As most of you will know, early on Saturday morning, 4 Sept, we experienced a 7.1 magnitude earthquake. Despite the frequent aftershocks, for us at Egressive it's business as usual. Thanks to the wonders of technology, we can say that even though we're working from alternative premises (spread across a couple home offices).

We still have full access to all our core systems and everything else we need to continue providing support and web application development. You can email us or ring our normal phone number (03 963 3733) - the calls will follow us where-ever we happen to be.

Our website hosting customers should not have experienced any outages at all, as our colleagues at Unleash, who run the hosting facility in which our infrastructure resides, have done a great job (and did prudent risk mitigation before the quake). Our support customers have been affected by this event to varying degrees, but we've been able to address all urgent support requirements. Please let us know if you require any assistance!

We hope to return to our normal offices in Kenton Chambers soon - the building was given the all-clear (a green sticker) earlier today (Tuesday 7 Sept) but that was replaced by a no-go (red sticker) as the building on the opposite corner of our block of Hereford Street, Manchester Courts, appeared in danger of collapsing (which might affect Kenton Chambers and the vicinity).

It would be great if it can be saved - we'll be deeply saddened if such a beautiful old heritage building is demolished - a decision is pending tomorrow, but one way or another, we hope to be back in Kenton Chambers by Thursday, 9 September.
