Biography:
After completing his degree, Rob worked for the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MAF), based in Wellington where he gained considerable technical experience from installing and maintaining applications and systems in a national network of large minicomputer systems and PC networks.
He then became the Systems and Networks Manager for the University of Paisley in Scotland, where he made significant improvements to their IT infrastructure.
Rob returned to New Zealand at the end of 1995 to manage the national IT infrastructure for MAF Quality Management, before overseeing the split of IT assets between MAF and two new State Owned Enterprises, AgriQuality and Asure NZ. After establishing the AgriQuality IT department as General Manager of IT, he moved to the Canterbury District Health Board with responsibility for 100 servers, a large network and over 2,000 PCs. Continuing his interest in Health, he moved to Canterbury Health Laboratories Ltd to manage their IT department.
In 2006 Rob moved to Egressive as a contract consultant in order to concentrate on systems and applications utilising Open Source Software. In 2007, he became a director of Egressive, and is responsible for the operational management of the business.
